- The GEO Group – in its acquisition of The Cornell Companies
- sanofi-aventis – in its acquisition of Chattem, Inc.
- NetApp – in its proposed acquisition of Data Domain
- Republic Services – in its merger with Allied Waste and defense against Waste Management
- CME Group – in its acquisitions of the Chicago Board of Trade and New York Mercantile Exchange
- Adobe – in its acquisitions of Macromedia and Omniture
- Freescale Semiconductor – in its LBO
Other current or recent clients include Deutsche Post DHL, United Airlines, Office Depot, LANXESS, Overseas Shipholding Group, CACI, Crescent Resources and Harry Winston. He also manages AMG's international activities through AMO, the leading global network of financial communications firms, which includes partners in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Latin America.
Mr. Burgess joined The Abernathy MacGregor Group in 1994 from Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart, where he specialized in media and investor relations for financial services companies, including Deutsche Bank, Chemical Bank, FGIC and New York Life Insurance Company. Previously, he served in the press office of Senator John Warner of Virginia.
Mr. Burgess graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a B.A. degree in English and has attended the Executive Education program at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and serves on the boards of directors of STK Theater Group and VIP Community Services.
