John McCool provides financial public relations and investor relations support to clients in a broad range of industries, particularly international companies as well as those in the technology sector. Past and present clients include Hewlett-Packard, Vodafone, France Telecom, Virgin Mobile USA, Polo Ralph Lauren, Macquarie, CEMEX and Iberdrola.

McCool has special expertise in advising clients on crisis communications, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, financial public relations and investor relations. Most recently, Mr. McCool assisted Hewlett-Packard in the company’s acquisition of 3Com. Additionally, he has experience working with companies in regulated industries to manage their reputations and to help secure approvals or gain visibility within Congress, the media and among regulators.  In 2008 he worked with Spanish-based Iberdrola to help secure the necessary state and federal approvals regarding their acquisition of Energy East and to raise the company’s profile in local press. 

Mr. McCool joined The Abernathy MacGregor Group in December 2006 after spending three years in London working at Skadden Arps law firm.  Mr. McCool graduated with an M.A. in Global Politics from the London School of Economics in 2006 and received his B.A. in International Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
