Mary Beth Grover provides strategic counsel to clients in the areas of financial public relations, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and crisis communications.  She specializes in asset management firms, including hedge funds, mutual funds, institutional funds, and private equity firms.  Ms. Grover has provided counsel in several significant hedge fund transactions, including FrontPoint in its sale to Morgan Stanley, K2 Advisors in its sale of a minority stake to TA Associates, and Capital Z in its management buyout.  Her clients include many of the leading hedge funds in the industry. 

Prior to joining Abernathy MacGregor, Ms. Grover was a member of W.T. Blase and Associates, a NY-based public relations boutique specializing in financial service firms.  While there, she developed and implemented media relations strategies for several blue chip hedge fund and asset management firms.

Ms. Grover brings a unique journalistic perspective to her clients.  Before beginning her career in public relations, she spent more than a decade as a journalist, working first for The New York Times and then at Forbes.  While at Forbes, Ms. Grover covered the asset management industry extensively and wrote several cover stories about asset management firms and personal finance.  She spoke about these topics on network and cable television and served as a panelist at industry events.  Ms. Grover is a cum laude graduate of SUNY at Buffalo and holds an MBA degree from Baruch College.
